Jiangxi province revealed: there are only 4 regular agencies

It is said that the study abroad consulting is heating up since June 23, the date of college entrance examination scores released. Dingqun who is the person in charge of Jiangxi Education Study Abroad Consulting Service Center told our journalist “The study abroad candidates of this year will be about 15% more than last year.”Journalist learned that most students who are interested in study abroad have medium or lower scores, their college entrance examination scores are ranging from 400 to 400 points, but also have a small amount of students have high scores which are fulfill the admission requirements of fist class or second class universities.
The insiders said that study abroad is more popular year by year. With the saturation of study abroad agencies in the first-tier cities such as Beijing and Shanghai, many agencies have extending their business to the second tier and third tier cities. A lot of agencies have set up in Jiangxi province recent years. A conservative estimate reveals that there are at least 40 agencies. They divided into three types: one kind is the branch of a field agency but not approved by the Provincial Department of education, one kind is the overseas training institutions engage in the study abroad service in their part-time. The last kind is they are nominally study abroad consulting institutions but they are engaged in the study abroad agency service.
"Outside province agency who wants to set up branches in the province should write application to the Provincial Department of education. The provincial education department will set qualification for provincial public security department and submit to the Ministry of Education to issue the "qualification" book, pay reserve funds 1 million yuan, and finally apply for enterprise registration for the local administration of Industry and Commerce." Mr. Xiong told reporters; at present the province has only for formal agency, which is: Jiangxi Education Service Center for studying abroad, Jiangxi friendly service center for studying abroad, Jiangxi Jincai Education Development Co. Ltd. and JUST International Education Service Co. Ltd. The last two agencies are approved recently and still handling the relevant procedures at present.

Not only for they are hard to reach the deposit requirement, but also because of the national ministry of education determine the number of agents to examination and approval is based on the number of citizens go abroad for private purposes in every province. Some small agencies think it is difficult to pass the examination and approval, so they solicit business without approval. Recently, the provincial education department will unit the provincial public security department, provincial industrial and commercial bureau to investigate illegal agencies, they will cancel the agencies’ qualifications if the agencies cheat students or hurt study abroad students’ interests.
