On September 28-29, the Yichun Disabled Persons' Federation held the finals of the 2025 Yichun Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Skills Competition for Children with Disabilities (Autism) in Gao'an City. The event took place at Gao'an Special Education School. Leaders in charge of rehabilitation work from 10 county-level disability federations, rehabilitation program directors, and heads of 38 designated children's rehabilitation institutions across the city participated.

Invited by the Yichun Disabled Persons' Federation, Nanchang Bairun Training School dispatched three senior teachers from its Teaching and Research Department to serve as final round judges. Following the competition, they conducted specialized training on managing older children with autism for rehabilitation institution directors citywide. The event concluded successfully.

With the goal of “empowering through competition and promoting action through learning,” the contest adopted a “video preliminary round + live final” format. It attracted 26 professionals from rehabilitation institutions, special education schools, and medical systems across the city to compete. Ultimately, 10 contestants advanced to the finals, injecting new momentum into rehabilitation services for the autism community through their professional expertise.

During the finals, the ten teachers comprehensively demonstrated their professional competence through three segments: lesson presentation, live individual training session, and theoretical examination, showcasing precise control over teaching pacing.

Three judges from the center's teaching and research department conducted comprehensive evaluations based on multiple criteria, including professional ethics standards, instructional control, antecedent stimuli, and procedures for instruction and error correction. After intense competition, the awards were distributed as follows: 1 Grand Prize, 2 First Prizes, 3 Second Prizes, 4 Third Prizes, 3 Best Presentation Awards, and 3 Best Organization Awards. Finally, Ms. Liu Dan, an expert from the Provincial Expert Committee for Autism Care Promotion, provided a review of the finals.

The excitement extended beyond the competition arena. On the following day, Zhou Kun, a member of the Jiangxi Provincial Youth Psychological Counseling Center and a specially appointed lecturer at the Provincial University Press, delivered a training session titled “Autism in Older Adults: The Gap Dilemma and Pathways to Hope.” Tailored as a “Pain Point Targeted Course” for institutional leaders, the session featured high-density content covering big data profiling, three major overseas sectors, domestic gaps and pilot programs, as well as career directions and job development. This initiative not only elevated practitioners' professional capabilities but also provided scientific rehabilitation guidance for autism families.

One competition, one training session. Yichun Disabled Persons' Federation ignited the engine of special education through “competition-based training,” while we fueled its progress with expertise and passion.

Moving forward, the Center's Teaching and Research Department will deepen its exploration of special education, transforming research outcomes into stepping stones for our star children toward a brighter tomorrow—ensuring every child with autism has a path to follow!
