On February 28, 2025, the “Symposium on the Development of the Speech and Hearing Rehabilitation Technology Program (Specializing in Rehabilitation for Children with Autism)” successfully concluded. The event was attended by representatives from Jiangxi Management Vocational College, international experts in the field of autism from the Saskatchewan Polytechnic in Canada, the teaching and research team from Nanchang Bairun Vocational Training School, and the director of the Nanchang Qingyunpu Bairun Rehabilitation Training Center.
As the autism rehabilitation training base for Jiangxi Management Vocational College, Bairun Education facilitated this opportunity for in-depth academic exchange between the two institutions—one from China and one from Canada.
Through this symposium, the Chinese institution gained a deeper understanding of Canada’s cutting-edge practices in talent development and program development for speech-language-hearing rehabilitation and autism rehabilitation. The two sides also discussed future models for Sino-foreign exchange and cooperation, laying the groundwork for further collaboration in the future.
At the meeting, two international experts in the field of autism from Saskatchewan Polytechnic shared cutting-edge international concepts and techniques in autism rehabilitation, drawing on their many years of research and practical experience in the field.
Regarding the newly established programs at Jiangxi Management Vocational College, foreign experts shared relevant experiences from Canadian universities in areas such as discipline development, talent cultivation objectives, faculty development, curriculum design, internships, and career prospects. The experts recommended that the college incorporate more cutting-edge international knowledge into its curriculum design, integrate theory with practical application, increase opportunities for discussion and interaction among students in the classroom, and provide students with diverse practical training opportunities.
After listening attentively to the foreign experts’ presentations, the relevant university officials engaged in in-depth discussions with them regarding curriculum design, faculty development, and practical instruction, and also offered their own suggestions for the university’s academic program development.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the university expressed its sincere gratitude to the international experts for sharing valuable insights and recommendations regarding academic program development and other areas in Canadian higher education. The university noted that through this Sino-Canadian academic exchange, it had been exposed to numerous advanced international teaching philosophies and gained significant insights. This exchange has provided clearer goals and direction for the launch of the Speech and Hearing Rehabilitation Technology program (with a focus on autism rehabilitation) at Jiangxi Management Vocational College.
The Bairun Education Research and Teaching Team will also take the experts’ recommendations fully into account, adapt them to local conditions, and continuously improve our autism rehabilitation programs, striving to cultivate more outstanding professionals in the field of autism rehabilitation.
In the future, Bairun Education will continue to strengthen cooperation and exchange with experts both domestically and internationally, actively explore innovative models in the field of autism rehabilitation, and contribute even more to the rehabilitation of individuals with autism!
