On May 29, 2025, we marked a milestone moment: Jiangxi Management Vocational College, Saskatchewan Polytechnic (Canada), and Bairun Education formally signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of autism research. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Lei Jiehua, Deputy Inspector General of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education; Wu Zuowen, Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation; and Yang Hanshen, Acting Deputy Director of the Office of Vocational and Adult Education. This not only advances the internationalization of autism education but also builds a solid bridge for cultivating international and innovative talent in the field of autism rehabilitation.

At the start of the ceremony, Lei Jiehua, Deputy Inspector of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education, noted that autism rehabilitation education is a noble cause imbued with humanistic care and social responsibility. The educational rehabilitation of children with autism is closely tied to the well-being of millions of families and social equity. Currently, China is fully implementing the “14th Five-Year Plan Action Plan for the Development and Improvement of Special Education,” and we look forward to the collaboration among the three parties to promote high-quality development in the field of autism education in our province.
As an internationally renowned leader in vocational education, Saskatchewan Polytechnic in Canada boasts a strong academic foundation and extensive practical experience in teaching and training, particularly in the field of autism rehabilitation. In April 2024, a delegation led by the president of Saskatchewan Polytechnic visited the Bairun Children’s Behavioral Rehabilitation Training Center in Qingyunpu District, Nanchang, where they toured the facility, engaged in discussions, and offered valuable suggestions regarding the center’s teaching and research initiatives.

In 2019, Saskatchewan Polytechnic sent experts on two occasions to the former Jiangxi Provincial School of Civil Affairs (now merged into Jiangxi Management Vocational College) to conduct public welfare training on autism rehabilitation techniques in collaboration with Bairun Education, marking a meaningful first step in their partnership. The signing of this tripartite memorandum of understanding signifies that the collaboration among the three parties is moving toward a higher level of development.

This collaboration will also promote cultural exchange and cooperation between China and Canada, fostering mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples. Through cultural exchange events, academic seminars, and other initiatives, it will help disseminate the outstanding cultural achievements of both nations and advance cultural diversity. Furthermore, it will cultivate a greater number of highly qualified professionals capable of meeting societal needs, thereby making a positive contribution to social development.

Following the closing remarks by representatives from all parties, the three representatives jointly signed a memorandum of understanding, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their collaboration.

We firmly believe that, under the guidance of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education and through the joint efforts of all three parties, we will be able to cultivate more professionals with an international perspective for the fields of vocational education and rehabilitation for individuals with autism in Jiangxi Province, and provide Jiangxi’s insights and solutions for international cooperation in autism education among higher vocational colleges nationwide!
