An International Perspective Empowers Autism Education

Bairun Education Leads the Way in Sino-Canadian Cooperation

Recently, delegations from two Canadian institutions—Saskatchewan Polytechnic and Holland College—visited Jiangxi Management Vocational College at the invitation of the college. They made a special trip to tour the college’s autism training base: the Bairun Children’s Behavioral Rehabilitation Training Center in Qingyunpu District, Nanchang. The delegations comprised a team of professionals, including Ms. Su Polley, Manager of Transnational Education at Saskatchewan Polytechnic; Devin Docherty, Senior Advisor for Curriculum and Instructional Development at Holland College; and Qiu Hongtao, Director of the International Cooperation Department, among other key figures.

The three parties engaged in in-depth discussions and practical negotiations on core topics such as Sino-foreign cooperative education, improving the quality of autism education programs, enhancing faculty capabilities, and jointly developing curriculum systems, while simultaneously hosting a public academic lecture. Representatives from Jiangxi Management Vocational College and the core team of Bairun Education extended a warm welcome to the guests. Based on the current state of autism education development in China and Canada, the three parties engaged in in-depth discussions focused on key areas such as implementing cooperative agreements and advancing project feasibility. They reached a consensus on jointly empowering the high-quality development of autism education and established a high-level platform for collaborative exchange in Sino-Canadian autism education.

As a professional organization with deep expertise in autism rehabilitation and inclusive education,Bairun Education’s Children’s Behavioral Rehabilitation Training Center served as the central showcase for this international exchange, with its professional achievements receiving high praise from the delegation. The delegation conducted an in-depth on-site inspection of the center’s various specialized classrooms,scenario-based activity areas, and research exhibition zones. They inquired in detail about the logic behind the curriculum design, personalized rehabilitation training processes, inclusive education model, and progress in research and innovation, gaining first hand insight into the center’s core philosophy of “scientific intervention and holistic development”

Ms. Su Polley and Devin Docherty spoke highly of the center’s professional structure and practical achievements, noting that the specialized transition classrooms, scenario-based teaching spaces, and small-group learning environments established by Bairun Education precisely align with the rehabilitation needs and developmental characteristics of children with autism; Its mature social intervention model, scientific group teaching system, and practical explorations in the field of inclusive education not only provide a replicable and scalable model for autism rehabilitation education in China but also offer valuable practical experience for the mutual exchange of educational philosophies and technical expertise between China and Canada, fully demonstrating the capabilities and sense of responsibility of China’s local professional institutions.

Bairun Education has long been dedicated to the fields of autism rehabilitation intervention and professional talent development. The organization has not only established an integrated platform combining “teaching and practical training, scientific research and innovation, and social services,” but has also deepened its industry-education integration with Jiangxi Management Vocational College. By focusing on addressing the shortage of professionals in autism rehabilitation and promoting the deep integration of rehabilitation techniques with talent development, Bairun Education is injecting strong endogenous momentum into the high-quality development of autism education.

The three parties agreed that the high-quality development of autism education hinges on the deep integration of international perspectives and local practices. Moving forward, the three parties will use this exchange as a foundation to continuously deepen communication and collaboration, accelerate the implementation of Sino-foreign cooperative education programs, introduce advanced international educational concepts and curriculum systems, and leverage the Bairun Education Practice Platform to conduct mutual teacher training and joint research. Together, they will elevate the professional standards of special education and autism rehabilitation programs, promote the coordinated development of special education in China and Canada, benefit more individuals with special educational needs, and put the principle of educational equity into practice through professional expertise.
