Warmth from the Soles, Love from the Tip of the Brush| Bairun Rehabilitation Center Hosts a Father’s Day Hand-Painted Slippers Activity, Letting the Stars Express Love for Fathers

发布时间:2026-06-21

In June, as the gentle summer breeze brings warmth, a father’s silent love weighs a thousand jun. To carry on the traditional Chinese virtues of filial piety and respect for the elderly, to help children with special needs courageously express their love, and to build a warm bridge of parent-child affection, on June 17, 2026, the Bairun Rehabilitation Center organized a heartwarming Father’s Day activity titled “Warmth from the Soles, Love from the Tip of the Brush” for children with autism currently in training. Through this themed hand-painted slipper activity, the children used their paintbrushes as a medium and the slippers as a canvas to create a special romantic gesture and a unique surprise for their fathers.

For typical children, openly expressing gratitude and casually sending holiday greetings are simple, everyday matters. But for “children of the stars”—those with autism—expressing emotions and conveying love is a challenge that must be overcome gradually. They have pure and sensitive hearts, filled with love, yet they often don’t know how to put it into words or aren’t good at expressing themselves proactively. This gentle hand-drawing activity has given tangible form to the children’s love, allowing their silent affection to be fully captured in the strokes of their pens and the hues of their paints.

The event was filled with warmth. As soon as the children received their art supplies, they were instantly absorbed in their creations, focused and earnest. Under the patient guidance of their teachers, tiny paintbrushes danced gently in the children’s hands. Some children carefully sketched vibrant red hearts, symbolizing their fathers’ enduring warmth and companionship; others drew crisp blue ties as a tribute to their calm and gentle fathers; still others carefully traced the characters for “Dad” stroke by stroke, their clumsy strokes concealing the purest affection. Every focused gaze and every careful stroke of color was a sincere expression of the children’s love.

These slightly childlike works lack refined compositions and neat lines; some are slightly colored outside the lines, while others feature crooked, simple designs—some so simple that their outlines are barely discernible. Yet these one-of-a-kind hand-painted slippers are the result of the children’s wholehearted efforts—a unique form of romance belonging exclusively to the “children of the stars.” They don’t understand the techniques of perfect artistry; they simply hope that when their fathers slip on these slippers, their feet will tread upon the stars, warm sunshine, and clouds they’ve drawn—carrying the unspoken, tender love unique to the bond between father and son or father and daughter.

On the journey of growth for children with autism, a father’s love is their most steadfast source of confidence, and a father’s companionship is an indispensable source of strength. This love is typically quiet and reserved, not given to words, yet it always silently protects and remains present throughout—embracing the child’s clumsiness, accompanying them as they grow, and becoming a solid backbone that helps them overcome confusion and move forward bravely.

This hand-painted slippers activity was not only a heartwarming holiday gift but also a deeply meaningful lesson in artistic healing and personal growth. The entire process of creating these slippers effectively developed the children’s fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and concentration, helping children with special needs steadily improve their abilities. At the same time, through fun creative activities and gentle guidance, the teachers helped the children understand the meaning of Father’s Day, appreciate the depth of a father’s love, and courageously push beyond their limits. By attempting to convey gratitude and express affection through their own creations, the children experienced a gentle journey of emotional growth.

Father’s Day lasts only one day, but a father’s love is a constant, enduring presence year after year. Gentle brushstrokes illuminate the kindness in children’s hearts, while warm companionship guides them on their path of growth. In the future, Bairun will continue to organize diverse, heartfelt, and distinctive charitable activities, using our professional expertise and warmth to support the growth of every child with special needs. We also hope that every “child of the stars” can, under the gentle protection of a father’s deep love, walk with confidence, follow the light, and journey toward a brighter and more beautiful future.

We pay tribute to every ordinary yet extraordinary father. Happy Father’s Day—thank you for all your hard work!
