On August 1st, the Army Day—a day of great commemorative significance—IBAO officially announced that the 2nd IBAO Annual Conference will be held in Nanchang, Jiangxi, in 2027! For this annual conference,Slark will partner with Jiangxi Management Vocational College as the core local co-organizers. The two parties will integrate resources from academia, industry, and the business sector to coordinate all conference operations from start to finish, leveraging local professional expertise to welcome colleagues from the behavioral analysis field across China and around the world to gather at the foot of The Pavilion of Prince Teng
Slark Takes on the Responsibility of Providing Localized Professional Support
The inaugural IBAO Annual Conference concluded successfully in Qingdao. The 2027 conference will be held in Nanchang, the birthplace of the August 1st Movement, with the theme “Illuminating the Individual, Empowering the Ecosystem: Localized Practices in Direct Clinical Work and Multi-Party Indirect Support.” This theme aligns precisely with the shared mission of Slark—which has long been dedicated to ABA—and Jiangxi Management Vocational College, which has long been committed to cultivating talent in special education.

The success of this conference in Nanchang would not have been possible without the comprehensive collaborative support from both Slark and Jiangxi Management Vocational College: Slark was responsible for venue coordination, connecting with local institutional resources, sponsoring awards for the Youth Forum, upgrading the poster exhibition area, and facilitating collaboration with industry organizations; Jiangxi Management Vocational College leveraged its academic strengths to coordinate the organization of faculty and students from its special education program, arrange supporting academic seminars, and showcase practical teaching achievements. Through this collaboration between the college and the company, they jointly created a premier behavioral analysis conference that combines an international perspective, practical experience from local institutions, and hands-on rehabilitation practices.

Building a Top-Tier Professional Exchange Platform
The lineup of guests for this year’s annual conference has been significantly upgraded. Dr. Michael M. Mueller , Founder and Chair of IBAO, and Dr. Ajamu Nkosi , Co-Founder, will attend the conference with their families. This marks the first time these two international experts have participated in the IBAO China Annual Conference with their families, clearly demonstrating the high level of global recognition for the development of the ABA industry in China.
The conference will also feature real-time AI-powered captioning and translation, breaking down language barriers and enabling seamless communication among experts from China and abroad. In collaboration with Jiangxi Management Vocational College , Slark will organize local front-line special education teachers, BCBA practitioners, and special education students from Jiangxi to participate in the entire event, bringing cutting-edge behavioral analysis techniques back to the front-lines of rehabilitation in Jiangxi.

The conference will continue its parallel format featuring lectures, breakout workshops, a Youth Forum, and a poster exhibition. The Slark Health Education Special Initiative will sponsor two major incentive programs to support young practitioners:

Youth Forum Special Awards
Three cash prizes will be awarded for outstanding presentations, and the top two most popular presentations will receive free admission to the 2028 IBAO Annual Conference, to encourage young front-line teachers to share case studies of local interventions for autism and developmental delays.

Popularity Contest Cash Prizes for the Poster Exhibition
The poster exhibition area has been significantly expanded this year, with 15–20 booths available. The top three organizations or individuals selected by public vote will receive special cash prizes from Slark, showcasing distinctive rehabilitation intervention models from various regions.

Conference Schedule Overview
January 8 (Friday): All-day registration
January 9, 8:30 a.m.: Opening Ceremony (Joint addresses by the IBAO Chair and the Director of Chinese Language)
Professional Lectures in the Main Hall + Simultaneous Workshops in 3 Breakout Sessions + Industry-Specific Roundtable Discussions, accompanied by coffee breaks, a buffet lunch, and an official banquet
Special Hotel Rate: 450RMB per night, including a buffet breakfast for two. Convenient for travel and sightseeing; industry professionals are welcome to bring their families.
Registration Fees
1. Early Bird Registration (Opens October 1, 2026; limited to 100 participants)
Regular price:1,500 RMB;; 10% discount brings the price down to 1,350 RMB
2. Regular Registration (November 1, 2026 – January 3, 2027)
Standard registration: 1,500 RMB; IBA/IBT certificate holders and behavior analysts receive a 5% discount, bringing the price to 1,425 RMB

Deepening School-Industry Collaboration to Advance Special Education in Jiangxi
Establishing a Comprehensive Talent Development Chain
The Bairun Children’s Behavioral Rehabilitation Training Center (Slark) in Qingyunpu District, Nanchang, is a designated autism rehabilitation institution by the Jiangxi Provincial Disabled Persons’ Federation and a provincial-level practical training base for CNABA behavioral analysts. Rooted in Nanchang for many years, it specializes in scientific ABA interventions for children aged 0–15 with autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, and ADHD. The center employs multiple BCBA-certified supervisors and a 27-member professional special education team. Integrating diverse behavioral analysis techniques such as DTT, VB, NET, and PRT, it offers a comprehensive curriculum including one-on-one training, social skills groups, inclusion support, and vocational orientation for older children.
Jiangxi Management Vocational College offers a specialized program in Speech and Hearing Rehabilitation Technology (with a focus on children with autism), establishing a comprehensive talent development system for special education. In collaboration with Slark, the college has co-built a training base, creating a seamless industry-education integration pathway that connects “academic training—institutional internships—employment,” thereby continuously supplying Jiangxi with professional autism rehabilitation talent.
This joint university-industry co-hosting of the IBAO National Annual Conference represents a significant opportunity for both parties to connect with international cutting-edge developments, empower local practitioners, and refine the special education talent development system.
